The problem/opportunity being addressed:
To allow practical assessment in the workplace to be moved from a paper based model to a web enabled model using an iPhone. This will centralise records, provide a faster turnaround of RPL applications and allow assessors a more convenient method in a busy kitchen environment |
The learners/clients and how they will benefit:
The pilot group will be employees of Rydges' hotels in melbourne who have applied for RPL as part of their traineeship. The primary benefit to them will be the faster turnaround of applications |
How the training is currently delivered:
Currently the skills audit is done on paper at the workplace. Records are not searchable and move between locations by snail mail which is slow. |
How the innovation will change current delivery:
It will speed the process up, centralise records and allow administrators to perform searches of the database to identify users who are still in progress. The paper based model will be replaced with a web based model and will be built specifically for the iPhone. |
